E-Safety
The use of the internet and the vast resources available to our pupils is a vital part of learning. Therefore it is important that we all take responsibility for ensuring their safety when using the internet. We have included some information for you to read and some links to websites they provide further guidance and interactive resources for you to use with your child.
USEFUL LINKS
CEOP Think U Know
The CEOP Think U Know site is the key resource area for e-safety.
The site has recently been updated to include a parents section and resources available for a range of age groups. The site contains a variety of interactive games and quizzes that help educate users about staying safe online.
‘Purely for Parents’ is a unique resource that has been developed specifically for parents by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre. The programme consists of an interactive presentation, a script and notes for professionals wishing to present it, FAQ’s and an engaging yet simple leaflet. The presentation focuses on new and emerging technologies that children and young people use to communicate with each other, the potential risks they may face and easy technical and lifestyle solutions which parents can employ to help keep their children safe. Increasingly, parents can feel isolated from their children’s online experiences.
Childnet
Child Net site has a range of resources, advice and guidance of how parents can keep their child safe on the internet. The site can be used as an interactive guide for parents to work through with their children, accessing games that also educate on e-safety.
